The King of Media recently sat down with the newly appointed “Stoner King of Hollywood” (Seth Rogen) and James Franco to talk shop as the Rogen-Franco duo promotes The Interview.
During the conversation, Howard Stern makes a point to bring up marijuana which causes some hijinks an highly entertaining conversing between the three.
We learn that no, James Franco still doesn’t smoke weed, Seth Rogen is not high all the time (but sometimes is on set), and that Howard Stern freaks out and gets crazy anxiety if he ever smokes the stuff. Listen to the clip right here:
While Rogen admits to getting stoned on set on a somewhat regular basis, we also learn that even from both Franco and Rogen that Rogen’s habit has little to no impact on their working relationship and set.
Here are some choice remarks from the interview, in case you can’t listen at work:
Howard: “Is it hard to work with James because he doesn’t smoke weed?”
James Franco: “I get high by proxy”
Howard: Are you not smoking weed because you have an issue with it, a problem or?
Franco: “I just haven’t done in it a long time. I don’t know, I guess there’s just no need.”
Howard: “When you’re actually shooting when youre directing and acting in your own film, are you high?”
Rogen: “Sometimes…it’s mostly if I have time available. I made a conscious choice to not let it disrupt the flow of the work day. Sometimes you just have six hours where you don’t have two free minutes to go sneak into your trailer and smoke joints, and sometimes there’s a three-hour camera set up and you can smoke 20 joints.”
But not even Hollywood’s stoner king can always keep his act together. Rogen tells a story that any stoner can relate to: an unwanted high. Only his took place during the filming of a major motion picture:
“When we were filming Neighbors…most weed fine. Every once in awhile I’ll cross my wires and a heavy Kush straight up fucks me up. One day on Neighbors I smoked the wrong kind of weed and walked over to set and was like I am too fucking baked for this.”
