Seth Rogen appears on the cover of the Rolling Stone‘s end-of-year issue as America’s favorite pop culture magazine has rolled out a stoned Rogen in full force, proclaiming a bearded Rogen as “The Stoner King of Canada”:

The issue features an in-depth interview with Rogen that details what the Canadian-stoner is up to in Hollywood, and offers insight into Rogen’s lifestyle. Of course, Rolling Stone made sure to ask Rogen about weed and the result is an interesting anecdote highlighting Rogen’s lone marijuana-related arrest:

The Canadian-born actor took California’s new weed laws for granted when he moved to the state. “I was genuinely shocked at how illegal it was here,” Rogen said. “I actually got arrested when I first moved to L.A. – I was smoking a joint at the beach, like I did my entire childhood, and all of a sudden, it was, like, whoop whoop whoop! Handcuffed in the back of a police car.” The actor said he doesn’t think he has a record, though.

So before Rogen was the Stoner King of Hollywood, he was just like the average stoner: innocuously lighting up on Venice Beach. Unlike most of Venice Beach’s free tokers, however, Rogen ended cuffed and in a cop car.

Of course, since then, Rogen has become anything but the average stoner. He’s become a cult stoner figure.

Thanks to his efforts in comedic films like Pineapple Express and Neighbors, Rogen has become a cultural icon for fans of cannabis. Rogen’s pure and unadulterated love of marijuana is very real, and his ability to accurately portray stoner culture on the big screen has helped him rightly become The Stoner King of Hollywood.

Moreover, Rogen’s upcoming film, The Interview (not weed-related), has again highlight Rogen’s command of the weed community. Rogen will travel to Denver where he’ll smoke up with fans in a screening of the film that promises to be unlike any typical film premier.

It’s unclear exactly where the screening will be held and which fans Rogen has chosen to smoke up with him. But it’s crystal clear hat Seth Rogen has become a face of the modern marijuana movement.

But do you think he deserves the title of “The Stoner King of Hollywood?” Let us know in the comments.
